1. Who We Are

VektorIndex ("we", "our", "us") operates the website located at vektorindex.com. We publish an independent B2B software directory with objective technical specification data. Vendors can submit and claim their listings through this site.

2. Data We Collect

For directory visitors, VektorIndex does not collect personally identifiable information (PII) directly unless you voluntarily submit a form.

For newsletter subscribers, we collect your email address when you sign up. We use this solely to send you updates about tools, compliance alerts, and new products. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email or by contacting us.

For buyers submitting an enquiryvia the "Request a Demo" form, we collect your name, email address, company name, and message. This information is shared with the relevant software vendor to facilitate your request.

For digital product buyers, payment and billing data is processed exclusively by Lemon Squeezy (our Merchant of Record). VektorIndex does not store your card number, bank details, or full payment information. We receive a purchase confirmation containing your email address, product name, and order ID for the sole purpose of delivering your download and providing support.

For vendors submitting a listing, we collect tool name, website URL, category, company name, and your business email address. This is used to review and publish your listing and to contact you about your submission.

For marketplace sellers (when the seller programme launches), we will collect business name, payout details (processed via Lemon Squeezy), tax identification information required by applicable law, and product listing data. A separate Seller Data Processing Agreement will govern this data.

Standard server-side logs (IP address, browser type, referring URL, and timestamp) may be retained by our hosting provider, Vercel, Inc., for up to 30 days. Refer to Vercel's privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy for details.

3. Vendor Listing Data

Specification data published in directory listings (pricing, compliance frameworks, API limits, integrations) is sourced from publicly available official vendor documentation. Vendors with a claimed listing may update their own data by contacting us. We do not share vendor contact emails with third parties.

4. Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymised, aggregated page-view statistics. No personally identifiable data is collected or stored. Verified vendors receive a monthly summary of page views for their own listing.

5. Advertising & Cookies

This site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service provided by Google LLC. Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other websites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting google.com/settings/ads or aboutads.info.

6. Your Rights

• CCPA (California, USA): Right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information. VektorIndex does not sell personal information.

7. Affiliate Links & Third-Party Services

Some outbound links on VektorIndex are affiliate links. Clicking them and making a purchase may earn us a commission. These links are disclosed in our Terms of Service. Affiliate relationships do not affect the accuracy of our specification data.

We use the following third-party services that may process your data under their own privacy policies: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database), Lemon Squeezy (payments), Resend (email delivery), and Google AdSense / Analytics (advertising and analytics).

8. Third-Party Links

This site contains outbound links to third-party software vendor websites. VektorIndex is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Review each vendor's privacy policy before sharing personal or financial information with them.

9. Data Retention

Newsletter subscriber email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Buyer enquiry data is retained for 12 months and then deleted unless ongoing communication requires otherwise. Digital product purchase records are retained for 7 years to satisfy tax and accounting obligations under South African law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We update this Privacy Policy when our services change materially. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. For significant changes, we will notify newsletter subscribers by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
